The squad for Team Alpecin-Premier Tech for the 2026 season is set. Coinciding with the announcement of the new sponsor Premier Tech, the World Team also announced the final rider signings for the upcoming season. The team has a total of new additions. The squad now comprises the maximum number of 30 professionals.
It has been known for some time that, as in previous years, young riders from our own development team will be promoted. For 2026, these are Aaron Dockx, Sente Sentjens, Lennert Belmans and Senna Remijn. The latter, at 19 years old, is the youngest in the professional team.
Eight real new additions for Alpecin-Premier Tech
In addition to this quartet of young talents, there are eight riders “from outside”. Among them is an old, young acquaintance. Maurice Ballerstedt rode for the Belgian team of the Roodhooft brothers until the end of the 2024 season. Last year, the 24-year-old German rode crit and gravel races in the USA for a year and is now returning.
Among the well-known names among the new riders is, for example, Florian Sénéchal. The 32-year-old classics rider from France has already won several one-day races and a Vuelta stage. With Hugo Houle from Canada, another experienced rider has been signed. The 35-year-old Houle won a Tour de France stage in the Pyrenees in 2022 and regularly proves his class in difficult one-day races.
The sprinter group around Jasper Philipsen and Kaden Groves is reinforced by Gerben Thijssen. The 27-year-old Belgian has already achieved nine professional victories and wants to add another string to his bow at Alpecin-Premier Tech.
Francesco Busatto, Lindsay De Vylder, Jonas Geens and Tim Marsman complete the new additions. In contrast, there are eleven departures. The best-known riders who are leaving the team certainly include Xandro Meurisse, Gianni Vermeersch and Quinten Hermans.
Edward Planckaert – one, if not the best lead-out man in the world – remains with the team. Originally, the 30-year-old Belgian wanted to move to Soudal Quick-Step, but then decided to continue riding alongside Jasper Philipsen and Kaden Groves.
